I hate it when I bite into a chocolate and it has something weird inside that I dont like. So I put it back, just incase its someone elses favourite. That way I'm not wasting.

What's wrong with that? Is there a better way?

I only put back the part I did NOT chew.

If you do not like that piece of chocolate I would get a napkin and deposit it in the garbage. Most people do not like to find the kind of surprise you have left in the past.

If it is your box of chocolates do whatever you want however you want to.
Now if you are sharing it with others then you need to get some type of a knife and cut it in half, viewing what the inside is or trying just half. Most people are not going ot want to eat a piece of chocolate that has already been bit into.

Either that or stick to buying the kinds that have the insert that tells you what each kind is. That's what I do!

Chocolates should not be served in a box. They should be taken from the box, slightly chilled, and placed for consumption in small silver dishes. Each silver dish should have a quantity of paper napkins adjacent.

This is the polite way of eating chocolate sweetmeats. If you take a sweet from the bowl, and find it unpalatable, one simply takes a napkin, cover the mouth, discreetly regurgitate the offending morsel into the napkin, and convey the soiled article to the bin that ones host/ess should have discreetly displayed.

If chocolates are offered from the box, simply refuse them. Eating chocolates from the box is as rude as drinking ones wine from the bottle without a glass, or being refused leave to smoke after the dessert been served and the port is being passed.

Take two half ones lick them and stick together. Then it will look like one whole one again.
If there is too big of a crack then chew up some chocolate and fill in the gap like you would when drywalling.Smooth it with your finger and Voila!
I would recomend segregating them to one end of the box so you dont accidently pick them again.

Choose a night when you are totally on your own, put your most favourite film on TV. Then you can forget the etiquette, and really enjoy the whole box to yourself yummmm!!!

Never met a chocolate that I did not like!

Always buy the kind that has a list of what candies have in them and where they are located. Use said list as a guide. Then seek and destroy. Hunt that chocolate and once you find it sniff it then put the hole thing in your mouth. Lean back, close your eyes and let that chocolately goodness melt in your mouth. Savorying every moment til you get that next one. Great now I want Chocolate. lol

Your etiquette is just fine. The ones with teeth marks have the hard centres. You're doing everyone a service.

Putting the chocolate back after you've tasted it is definitely bad. Doing so can spread germs, and its just dirty, bad manners. If you taste one and don't like it, you should dispose of it discreetly, perhaps in a tissue, then into the bin. You should try to grin and bear it, but if your sensitive taste buds won't allow this, then don't take one, pass them on.
