I'm a nurse. It won't breakdown, but you will eliminate it out of your body at the regular time. It takes 24 hours for food to digest. You are fine it will be out of your system tomorrow.

If you swallow your gum, it will take 7 years to digest because of the materials of which gum is made from. If the gum is sugarless, it will only take 5 years.

Gum doesn't take years to digest. More or less, it travels through your digest track until its expelled out w/the rest of the byproducts from your body.

No it is not true. It is what is better knoen as an oldwives tale. One you swallow gum it goes down just like anything else would and comes out just the same.

Its true I read in an article that it takes about 3-5 years to digest it,but sometimes its sooner.

THAT IS A TOTAL LIE. WHEN U SWALLOW GUM IT DIGESTS THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME AS OTHER FOODS.

no its a lie. once you swallow it drink 'cold' water because it keeps the gum from melting and sticking to your intestines when your digesting it.

Not true . I once ate gum befor nothing happened. I also swallowed ice nothing.

that is just a urban legend. It is not the best thing for you to swallow and if you have a whole of it may be a bad thing but it definitly will not stay for years.
