Besides or in addition to the OTC medicines mentioned you might try...not kidding..trying some chicken soup before your meal. Also breath in front of a humidifier or a hot shower just before eating.

Then since the taste buds for different types of food are located on different parts of the tongue you might try placing the food on different parts of your tongue prior to chewing.

Kind of a long shot but I have had luck with this from time to time.

You could try things like antihistamines and nasal spray and blowing your nose a lot, but overall they will not work. Your best bet is to not really be able to taste your food for a few days while the cold runs its course.

you cannot you just have to ride the cold out or sweat it out jalepenos chilis if you can handle it but dont if you cant its just a thought ok tea with lemon and honey helps nothing of these are cures but help not a cure...
