Abrahamic religions would say "there is no such thing as evolution". But there are the Christians I've met who do beleive in evolution.. I don't really know.

I have no religion so no answer to this question. However, I would like to respond to another's answer:

"Would you ask how religions explain gravity? Electricity? What does religion have to do with science?"

Religion has EVERYTHING to do with science. All the religions I know make statements about where we come from and where we are going, in addition to setting 'rules' for behaviour. As science does this as well, I would assume there should be a religious interest in scientific theories, etc. After all, the religious view should be that a scientific theory gives them an additional viewpoint on their god's creation.

On the more negative side, you also get people who look at contradictions between their religion and science, and try to claim the science is wrong. Good examples of this are Galileo's treatment and of course, the arguments you see on these pages about evolution. Galileo's discoveries did not disprove the bible. They just led to some reinterpretation. The same can be said of evolution.

Religion does not allow the theory of evolution to come into play.

For me personally - here's my theory on it all... God is almighty, right? Try this one on for size... God created dinosaurs and apes and all of the other prehistoric animals, humans not included - apes then began to evolve into the caveman, however, God didn't like what he was seeing in the caveman since there was no chance for further mental development. He created the ice age and started over again with Adam and Eve. Because they could procreate, there was no reason for evolution to continue.

We know that the ice age occurred, but there is no mention of it in the bible, nor mention of prehistoric animals, yet we know they existed too. Therefore, why couldn't God have decided to start over from scratch and both the bible and evolution be correct?

You've seen Avatar one to many times. "there's no denying" Actually, science DOES deny many of these things and denies them quite well. Dreams do NOT accurately predict future events, and even when they do it is usually a self-fulfilling prophesy ("I dreamed I was living in New York so I moved to New York") or one of a number of known outcomes ("I dreamed I got this job I was applying for" - yes, because getting it or not getting it were the only possible options). And while some people have anecdotes of not getting on a plane because they'd dreamed it would crash, there is not one verifiable, documented case of anyone waking up and writing down or informing officials in advance that a particular plane would crash PRIOR to the plane actually crashing. And Mentalists read body language, yes, a skill that is not supernaturally "connected" to other people in any way, but one that can be easily learned by anyone with the patience to do so (and easily deceived by those who want to do so). My advice is learn about statistics, probability, and coincidence because that's how much of the real world operates.

In the beginning was God.
On the first day God created the Universe.
On the second God created Heaven Earth and an infinite number of other stars planets and other space junk.
On the Third day God dumped a whole load of chemicals and bacteria on the earth and added a few drops of fertiliser
A few million years later Apes evolved and became human, turning Pink, Finally the albino humans evolved larger brains more muscle, larger sex organs and went to live in Africa.

Peace!
I am a Catholic Christian, but I do not question the theory that we are a product of evolution. God may well have used evolution to create life. Evolution does not change the fact that an Intelligent Designer made the universe and all life forms on earth.

My religion doesn't have an explanation for evolution, doesn't need to, we don't need to dismiss science. There is no contradiction between my religious beliefs and science. I don't believe humans were created, I believe we evolved naturally.
