yes, hard alcohol has calories too and that's what gives you a gut! Whether it falls on your stomach or your hips is up to your body but if you take in more calories than you burn it's going to end up somewhere!

I used to be like that. I could drink anything under he sun (except Jack Daniels and Jager) and I would be fine. As soon as I would even SMELL beer I would gag. So, I never drank it. First time I had it I almost threw up. I would randomly take little sips, but the smell, and the taste gagged me. Finally one day I went out and had like 8 beers and was fine. Sometimes, you just have to get used to it. (I had to because drinking Malibu and Diet every time was getting a weeeeeeeee bit expensive) It could also be where you are getting the beer. If you go to the same bar, and get the same draft beer...it could be like bottom of the keg stuff. Also, if you are drinking a lager that could be it. Try a lite beer like Miller or Bud. It took me a while to start the lagers. Now I am in love with Yeungling and Dos XX's!

You can get a beer belly from drinking Coke, Pepsi, Orange juice or milk.
Beer belly is just a polite way of saying "you're fat". Being fat is caused by consuming more calories than your body can metabolize.
The term is more applied to us beer drinkers because we typically consume way too many calories. We eat healthy diets, but when we consume alcohol, it puts us 500-1000 calories past what we need daily. Each beer contains 100+ calories, and most of us try to limit ourselves to a 6-pack a day.

You get a "beer belly" from eating improperly and not excersizing. Any drink can be associated with it, despite the name. Just drink moderatly, whatever your drink of choice may be, eat your fruits and veggies, and keep up with an active lifestyle.

Yes. My Grandfather rarely drinks beer, but is an alcoholic, and he doesn't eat much. His stomache is almost wider than he is tall.

Actually, yes, but the bloating will be from an enlarged liver and other organs struggling to survive your alcoholism. Get some help before you drink yourself to death.

Where your body stores fat has nothing to do with where you get your calories from. People with "beer bellies" get them from taking in more calories then they burn, same with people who put on weight in their thighs or buttocks.
