I have one that talks to you when you talk to him. You can ask him anything and he answers.

Very. One is siamese so I expected him to be very expressive (which he is, loud and clear and sometimes incessantly--until he gets what he's been pestering you about). The others have generally been tabbies or mixes and they all end up babbling to me about every single things they saw or heard or did or wished or thought about or want. But then, I babble at them too and we seem to understand enough of each other to know when a question has been asked and needs an answer (they do answer too and carry on a conversation), and I can usually tell when they are asking for something (like "refill our food bowl please," or "you forgot to take the lock off the catdoor so we haven't been able to get to the litterbox all day and, hurry, or we're going to have a mess here"). They are generally very contented cats who just like to express themselves and have folks who will listen and respond accordingly.

My cat is Siamese and she doesn't meow that much. I had very vocal male Siamese as a kid I'd be bothered by them when I had a headache. She meows more when she wants her box cleaned or her food dish is empty.

2 of my cats never meow. I dont even think Ive ever heard 2 of them meow to be honest... I have a black cat though, who was rescued from a cat house. He heard me walking around outside where he was and he came out from under a pile of wood and got on top of it and meowed so loud until I found him and picked him up, and then for like 2 years he never meowed again. Just recently hes been craving attention or something so now he meows quite often.

One is talkative just to be talkative (you'd almost think he was part siamese, but he's not), and the other is only talkative when he wants something.

My Russian Blue does a lot of little inquesitive purr noises when he's near to a person but he's not too big on meowing unless he really want attention.

He just mostly rumbles in his thought and makes similar noises.

My cat is 17 years old and she talks a lot. Especially when we eat, when she wants to eat and also when she wants to go out to the backyard. At night when I go to bed around 9pm she meows for me to follow her upstairs so she can go to bed on my bed. What a crazy cat.

One night I was awakened by what I thought it was a mad drunk man raving loudly in my garden. As I got up I saw it was my neighbour's siamese cat chatting to my tabby, which is rather quiet. =^^=
