I keep getting a sore ear which leaks out some sort of smelly liquid, then it heals, then it comes back?

It sounds like otitis externa (infection of the ear canal) You need a medic to have a look in your ear for a correct diagnosis.

Keep it clean, dont poke anything in your ear and dont put your head under water until you have been given some advice.

Good luck

i know how you feel i've just come from hospital today i had an operation on mine it's a perforated ear drum you have sometimes they heal themselves . i have to get my other ear done in six months what ever you do try not let water in to the ear . you can get some ear drops they help but they dont cure it . i've had this problem on and off for nearly thirty years i'd go to the doc and get it sorted now if i was you . the operation is only a minor one i went in yesterday and came out this morning . i bet when you have the problem every time someone shuts a door or a cupboard or any kind of thumping noise it gives you a right headache

It sounds like you have been having middle ear infections that have perforated your eardrum. Get yourself to an ENT (ear, nose and throat doctor) for the most appropriate treatment.
