Help picking a theme for my history project?

Question

Something in world history that had a big affect on world history. Nothing on US history. Nothing too broad or vague. I wanted to do the rise and fall of Nazi Germany, but it was too broad.

Do the story of the Yalta conference, where the Allies decided how to carve up Europe before they even defeated Germany. That changed the whole history of the world (it led to the Cold War). The most important parts were the decision to partition Germany into zones of occupation and the agreement that Greece was to be left alone by the Soviets (this was insisted on by Churchill, he also tried to save Poland but didn't succeed).

What aspect of Nazi germany fasinates you the most. For me it is the holocaust. The question of why hate of a few groups of people caused another group to cleanse them out. If that is still to big. Pick a camp or a group that was under target. This was not just going on in Europe. The American help Japaniese in camps too. May be look at that path.

Try an old Chinese dynasty. They are broad enough so you can choose one like the Ming Dynasty, but can be narrowed down into something as small as the religion of the dynasty.
