From what Ive seen its like being a hippy.
Vary pro equal rights for woemn and even has no issues at all with gays and lesbians and about living with nature not destroying it.
Seeing sex openly and peacefully as a good thinng in itself and very peacful
Ie no wars, no inquisitions or murderous sharia laws etc.
So why seen as bad?
Whilst violent nasty repressive, sexisit, homophobic christianity and islam seen as good?

Spells I was told are actually science... bit like a prayer but emplying psychology often psychosexaul pyschology... Ie girls know how to get guys to do things with word justure and girlie powers.

People fear what they dont understand, due to christianity witches were persecuted many years ago thereby driven underground to follow their beliefs,this was for greed and power inbelieving that killing witches would bring christianity to the one religion but the christians forgot thy shall not kill butthen it states thy shall not suffer a witch to live.
Instead of putting faith into a religion that hides behind the skirts of god which still today kills in its name,the Witches continued to have faith in the trees and plants although this may seem stupid to some there is a basis in todays society that killed alot of peoplefor mere superstition if you look into the world of medicine you will note that many man made drugs are used from plant enzymes therefore they are plant based something a witches understood many years ago but where killed for. Instead of going into a church the witches honoured the moon does not the moon hold great significance today for the growth of plants has does the sun the two things witches have worshipped for centuries witches honour the seasons why well winter is when the old die off and then you have the spring which brings new birth then you have summer which the attaining of adulthood/growth then you get the autumn the middle age when things that are grown are harvested in the time of maturity then winter old age the time of death to make way for rebirth
Ok all this is written for the layman to understand but those of genuine interest should read more into it for there is more knowledge to seek however due to persecution witches tend to avoid those who dont believe we are loving of nature we are appreciate and care for the earth
but we are still seen has bad because we are none judgemental well most of us are but if passionate about a subject we will speak out i personally am known for this but we dont claim to be the one true religion we dont slam bible passages at everyone and ignore their polite declining has a sin and a one way ticket to hell

Witches are not promiscious we appreciate thehumanbody the beauty of it we do not believe its a sin to make love to some one we love .......im sorry this is seen has a sin for surely you cannot enjoy the special loving between your wife and yourself.

Well I don't know anything about witchcraft, but neither do any of the other people around my neighborhood. In my school there were a few people who said they practiced witchcraft. These people, not suprisingly if you know me, were my friends. They claimed to know everything about it, yet everything they said contradicted what someone else said, and their "spells" were so fake it wasn't even a matter of believing or not. Because all of the witchcraft I have been exposed to was fake, I don't know if I should belief in spells and such. But if spells are real, I would be very interested to learn!!
As for your question, I think that the reason people are against it, at least the people in my school, is because they fear it. They hear the term witchcraft and they think of every witch movie they have ever seen, and they picture people in pointy hats making potions out of newt and bat parts. They think these people are nutty, and are also probably afriad that they might target them.
Mostly, people are scared of what they dont understand, or of what challenges them to think outside of their safe little box. Its pretty pathetic, I think.

because people don't understand and don't bother to find out what its all about. They just assume that its bad because of how 'witches' are portrayed in history.
Its the age old story of patriachal religions trying to keep women down!

Fear of the unknow... we know what we get with other beliefs and religions but there is uncertanty that surrounds witch craft, and this breeds negativity
