a steroid cream given by a doctor or Eucerin lotion you can buy it over the counter. I am still looking for the right thing for my 4 year old who suffers also.

My eczema recently came back to me again and I had to start from scratch with the moisturising creams. I found E45 helped, just apply it to keep the skin moisturised. If the skin is not too inflamed (Red and scratchy) buy some over the counter hydrochortizone cream and apply this twice a day. If that steroid cream doesn't make any impact (Give it a week or so) go to the doctor and they may give you a stronger steroid cream, betnovate or fucadin.
The main thing is finding a moisturising cream that works for you, I tried aqueous cream (really, really cheap) but it made my hands really itchy, I tried a couple of others as well but I settled on E45, just try and see what works best for you. Vaseline isn't really a good choice, it's horrible, sticky and only traps moisture in, it doesn't really moisturise as such but it's brilliant as a barrier to protect your skin from water, mild chemicals etc...
The best way I found is to find a moisturising cream that works best for you and to keep rubbing it into the affected area, then top it up in the morning and evenings with a steroid cream if it won't clear. Hope this helps! I know how irritating eczema is, but it's sooooo good to scratch which makes it even harder to heal!

I found this article very helpful, it comes from a website I trust has reliable info, they recommend this cream called SK Cream that is not sold in shops yet by word of mouth is selling very well. (see end of article)
They also recommend eczema sufferers to not eat milk or dairy products as they cannot digest the protein casein in milk. Diet plays a big role in treating diseases.
Please read article for more info.
Also, type in Eczema in search for more info.
