Six months was when I neutered my cat too, and it was actually sort of late for most kitties.
Problem is by that stage, their little male kitty insticts are already at work and humping can be a learned behaviour.
My male is two now and he still tries to mount my arm as well when he's happy. I'll pet him and he'll purr, then all of a sudden he's on me. It's a pain, because mine gets a little agressive too.
My vet told me the cat had already learned to do this and he might never fully stop.

I also had a cat that did the same thing. EVERY time I would lay down and put a blanket over me he would start humping my legs. I would try pushing him off but he was very persistent! There was no stopping him (he was also neutered). Anyway, the vet also told me that "he had a crush on me". There is really nothing you can do. My cat did this continuously for about 3 years then he got sick with diabetes and he lost the urge cuz he didn't feel good. Eventually he died and now I just wish he was here to hump my leg! I say just let him do his thing because it wont last forever and it makes him happy. I wasn't embarrassed in front of my friends....it gave us all a good laugh. I miss my cat.

We used to have a cat who did that when he became overstimulated from petting - the solution for us was to pay close attention to his body language, and stop petting him before he reached the 'grab the arm & hump' stage of excitement in response to petting.
I also found this info that might be helpful:
"The cat that's humping is manifesting its need for affection/attention through it's humping behavior. The humping behavior is not neccessarily a sexual behavior, it's just a physical reaction to their feelings of neediness.
The solution is to give the cat extra attention, especially when it starts with the humping behavior. Pick the cat up, talk to the cat, pet the cat, etc."
So I guess the treatment depends on what is motivating your cat to start humping.
Try watching him closely when you're petting him, and you may be able to tell if he's becoming overstimulated.
Or, if it seems like perhaps he's humping because of anxiety, try paying more attention to him & see if that helps. Set aside some time each day to for play therapy: interact & play with him, using a laser pointer or feather toy for him to chase & work off some energy.

Our cat can be like that, and he seems to love the smell of my Hubby after he has come off a flight.
Like yours he was neutered as a kitten.

I had a cat like that once but the vet said he couldnt do anything about it, he had a tiny undescended testicle in his body and that was why he was behaving so amorously with my leg or husbands arm!

i have three cats and they are male too, but i didn't nuter them. i suggest that you try to teach him to not get that way with you. you should have a little spray bottle with you, and the next time he does that you just give him a little warning spritz. so he will learn not to do that.

If his testicles aren't visibly gone, it sounds like they just did a vasectomy. A small percentage of vasectomies heal back...esp if they're not properly done. That's why full castration is your best bet. Check and see if his jewels are still there...
