Depends on your age, Love. At your age. Sit `em down at a Mall, and talk over something to drink. Tell him, what kind of guy, you'd wanna be with. If he's smart at all. He'll see that you're talking about him. If he can't connect the dots. Do you really want him any way.

You turned him down for a date or sex?
If it was sex he will most likely only want sex and if you dont want that then dont do it and move on
If it was a date them woo him-invite him out; Send him love notes, flowers to his job etc. Check out the movie HITCH the idea is to appeal to all the things in him that draw him to you

If he really, truly hates you, then I wouldn't tell him. It might just push him away. If you really have to tell him, a note would probably be the easiest way. If he hates you more, then just say someone else wrote the note.
