Are you serious? Most plastic surgeons won't even consider operating on a child under 16 (even with the parental consent necessary for minors under 18) unless there is a medical problem involved. So the answer is NO. Your 11 yr. old daughter should not have plastic surgery.

Oh heavens no!! That is way too young first of all. And there are tons of things she could want done. If it's a boob job, then I say HELL NO. That means she wants boobs to be accepted and most likely realizes what her body means to boys.

Our society is so fake nowadays. We have great things at our fingertips and I think plastic surgery works well for people who have physicalities that are very distrubing to their lives or painful.
People are so dissatisfied with themselves and aging and are SO unhappy that they search for the quickest fix to feel better, when in reality they still hurt inside. I see no problem for some basic surgeries but it can be a domino effect.

Tell her she can do it when she is 18 and can pay for it herself. She'll be an adult and can make her own decisions. Hell, wait till she's 21.

No I wouldnt let my child have plastic surgery especially at 11 years old. She probably is frustrated with something on her body and thinks that surgery is the only way to fix it, when in reality if you talk to her you may make her feel better about herself. I went through a phase like that when I felt like nothing could help except just "going under the knife".

No! As the first poster said, most plastic surgeons won't consider dong it on a child, let alone the ramifications it could have on her self-esteem and image.

Sit her down and talk with her. Ask her why she wants plastic surgery--if it's something development related (breast augmentation, ect.) tell her that it takes time for her body to grow. IF she wants something like a nose job, tell her about Barbera Streisand, where it has been said that if she did have a nose job, she wouldn't have been as famous as she is today. Make sure you bring up Cindy Crawford and her now-signature beauty spot.

You actually felt the need to ask total strangers for advice on this most obvious of parenting questions? If you allow your child to get plastic surgery at 11 years old, you should have your parental rights terminated. That's like allowing an 11 year old to get tattooed.

At 11 her body is still changing and chance are even if she has plastic surgery now that after the surgery her body will still be changing and not look how she expected it to. Unless there is something wrong with her then she should wait until she is through developing.

Definately Not.If She Is Only 11 Years Old.No. If I Had A Daughter I Couldn't Imagine Ever Getting Her Plastic Surgery. It's Ridiculous.

If you don't know why, then how are we expected to know?!

And NO! You should definitely not let her. Instead sit down and talk to her. Make sure you are building up her self-esteem. She's starting to become a young women. It's a difficult time in any girls life and she needs all the help and support she can get. You need to make sure that she loves herself the way she is.

Also, I wouldn't trust any doctor who would even consider doing plastic surgery on a child that has no physical problems that are preventing them from living a normal life.-

Plastic surgery at 11? That's crazy. She hasn't stopped growing and turning into who she will be. Don't let her have it, she doesn't know who she is yet. She probably wants it because that's what everyone wants or she doesn't like something about herself right now. Explain to her that when she gets older if she still wants it she should look into it then and be happy with herself as she is now.

She probably thinks that shes not pretty. Although you might think she is, she doesn't. What you should do is sit her down and just tell her how beautiful she is in and out. No, I do not think you should let her get plastic surgery. Her skin will look nasty when she gets older, it costs alots of money, Shes never going to be happy until she knows that she does not need this and that shes all ready beautiful.
