5. So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. 6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day. 7. Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished. Deuteronomy 34:5-7.if Moses wrote the books of Moses how can He say about Himself that He died? did He resurrect also and say 'I died when I was hundred and twenty years old'?

Excellent question.

Evidently, that's part of a post-enscription.

The traditional explanation is that Moses was inspired by God and his recounting of his own death was a prophecy. (Must have hurt.) An alternative is that Joshua wrote that last part to finish it off. (Hmm. Did he watch Moses die?)

In the Second Book of Kings, during the reign of King Josiah, the High Priest discovers a "forgotten book of Torah", which upsets Josiah enough to start a major religious reform throughout the country. The name of the book is not given, but many scholars believe it to be Deuteronomy, which has a different style from the others, recaps many of the events and laws in the others and provides a needed ending to the desert saga. Because Josiah's reforms included incursions into the Northern Kingdom to destroy "idolatrous" worship sites, there are some who raise questions about the fortuitous timing of the book's "reappearance".

Mozart died before finishing his Mass in C Minor. Even though someone else finished it, it's still considered his work.

If you read the first few verses of Joshua, there is a verse where Moses dismisses the people. Moses died in Deuteronomy, right? I think Joshua finished Deuteronomy and Judges overlaps it a bit.

Scribes followed Moses and others around and were told what to write down. When Moses died, some scribe wrote of the event and when this part of Deuteronomy was written it was included.

Hmmmm? You don't suppose Joshua could have finished it, or maybe the Scribe who actually wrote it for Moses?

Yeah, it's apparent he didn't write that particular verse, but that was common back then, to write a postscript one someone's work.
