I've been getting tattooed for a while, and now, at my artist's estimate, 90% of my body is covered in ink. My very first tattoo is on my left wrist, it says UNITY in very simple, old-school black lettering. It was poorly done, as I was underage, and has faded and bled so it's barely legible. But I still love it, because it started me on this incredible journey of filling my natural canvas with color, meaning, and just plain old awe-inspiring art. My journey is drawing to a close, with only 10% of my body left to go. I've put over $100,000 dollars into my skin. My face is tattooed, my scalp is tattooed, the soles of my feet and palms of my hands are tattooed. My forehead is my next big project, a California-esque sunset. If you want to fight about how disgusting what I've done to myself is, feel free to email me thedyingeuphoria@musician.org. I've got some very valid reasons for doing what I've done, and I'm willing to share them with anyone who asks. It's not about fads, it's not about looking cool, it's about decorating my temple and marking each experience I have in my life. I've closed some doors for myself, and been the recipient of some very blatant discrimation, but the closed doors motivated me to become a professional tattoo artist, and I've been happily and gratefully tattooing professionally for about three years. The looks I get, the stares, the snide remarks, it's all worth it, because I am happy and content in my own skin now.
I don't care if you have one tattoo or if there's no blank skin left on your body, every person with a tattoo is a part of a subculture finally losing it's negative image. We are not criminals, we are not the dregs of society. We are just ordinary people with something to say, and it's different for each of us. So have fun and happy tattooing!

I have many tattoos I am going to get but I have to wait to finish the first I got because I'm pregnant. The only piece of it that i have is the nautical star on my right shoulder blade for my Grandad I wanted it since I was 3 kind of a long story on it but has a lot of personal meaning what it is going to have when i finish it whenever I have my son ( less than a few weeks now ) is a second nautical star on my left shoulder blade with a banner going from both of them and going behind the stars with two smoking guns in the banner is going to be Every Rose Has A thorn with a thorn pierced through part of the banner and underneath the banner and american beauty red rose the petals being the only color in it. Others Im going to eventually get a big memorial tattoo for my best friend, two tattoos for my son his name, and the second being either his footprints or handprints on my ankle, my dogs paw prints, a celtic cross etc... =]

As part of a late birthday present to myself(36...eeeeek!) I got my first tattoo last August. It's a stargazer lily between my shoulder blades. I loved it so much, I went back to start a calf sleeve in December. It's an angelfish and will prolly have a sea horse or an aquarium look on the other side. I hope to start my other calf sleeve for my birthday this year. I will prolly have at least 4 tatts by this Christmas. I'm hooked, I can't help it hahahaha!

I got my first tattoo on my upper left arm, near the shoulder, when I was 31. I had wanted one since college, so I figured 10+ years was long enough "thinking time". It is from a photo of one of my cats. I waited several years before getting my second tattoo, mostly because I was looking for the right design. It is on the back of my right shoulder, and it is a combination of a bicycle chainwheel and cats. It's partly memorial in nature, for my late father.

For my 30th birthday (on the actual day of my birthday), I got a tattoo of a treble clef on my left ankle.
I had recently left an abusive husband, and was about to move into my new house and start a new life with my children. I wanted a way to celebrate who I am (a left handed musician!), and commemorate a turning point in my life.
It is a gorgeous tat, I LOVE it, and everyone who sees it agrees :)
I'm thinking about getting another one, this time Luther's Rose (http://www.bittysoda.com/photos/lutherrosetat.jpg) but I'm not sure where I'd put it... don't want it on the small of my back..... when I know where I want it, then I'll go get it done :D

My tattoo experiance began several months ago with a tiny ankh on my shoulder. I paid for that one. The next 3 were done by a friend, one is the butterfly that you see in my picture on a large part of my calf (no color yet just the black, and it's the size of my hand) another is an Egyptian cat on the opposite shoulder of the ankh, and on my calf is a Methodist Cross and Flames.

My first was an ankle piece, it has knotwork in the inside of my ankle with red roses in the back ground, vines that wrap around to the other side with a 4 leaf clover in the middle. My next is a poorly done tramp stamp of a tiger that will be reworked soon. Then I have an angel on teh right side of my back to repesent my son that died. I will eventually be getting a devil on my left for my living sons. The top of my left foot is done with the phases of the moon and my latest is not finished yet, I still have to do the color. It is a dogwood branch on my left rib cage. That on hurt like heck!

My first tattoo was the hand from the opening credits of "The X-files" on my left outer calf. Then I got a moon on my left foot and a sun on my right foot. I got a pride triangle on my right breast that I didn't like. The first time I tried to get it fixed, the guy made it worse. I finally just got it covered with a really nice sea turtle. I have a green tribal butterfly on my right outer calf, Figment from Epcot on my left inner ankle, a baby dragon blowing bubbles on my left upper arm, runes that mean: peace, protection, love, healing, spirituality, rebirth, blessings, and the triple Goddess on my right shoulder. I just started my back piece with a lotus, the Chinese symbol for inner peace, two Indonesian yogis (they take on your sorrow and dispair so you don't have to carry it), and a tree in the middle of my back to remind me how life cycles and that I'm not dead inside like I sometimes feel. When I decide if I'm done adding things to my back, I'll have grass, sky, and a sun added. I really want to get my sleeve done with excerpts from my favorite poems.
I have my tongue pierced and the rook of my left ear. I've had my belly button pierced three times and I've had problems each time. I want to get the back of my neck pierced with three barbells and a Medusa piercing (through the middle dimple of the upper lip).
