Satan chose to rule on the earth instead of worshiping and serving God in heaven forever. He knew from the moment that he was thrown from heaven with his demons that he would be defeated. He has already been defeated by Christ, and when Christ returns he will be sent to eternal hell, to burn forever- he hated God so much and the people of God that he will do anything to keep people from Him until that day. Satan cannot jump ship, so to speak, no one can escape the Lord.

That would be like asking Osama to join the Salvation Army and help feed the homeless. It just won't happen. Satan's goal is to take as many souls to hell with him. God loves people and Satan knows that is the only way he can hurt God. Free will is for mankind only, not angels, and Satan was a fallen angel.

He can't jump Ship.............God created all things and has confined him to the vicinity of the Earth..........look at the trouble on the world scale especially since 1914.

His thought process is Rule or Ruin............ Therefore he wants to destroy everything to try and keep further prophecies from being fulfilled.... life is futile when you battle God and Christ.

Why too late for Satan?
He knew the truth and opposed God and his Word.

This is worthy of the Second Death and constitues the "unforgivable sin" as well.

"For example, whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the holy spirit, it will not be forgiven him, no, not in this system of things nor in that to come." Matthew 12:32

He has fought and fought against God and His Son from almost the beginning. As I mentioned ...he was in the truth, but as Jesus points out here............ he didn't "stand fast" in it.

"YOU are from YOUR father the Devil, and YOU wish to do the desires of YOUR father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of [the lie]."
-John 8:44

Because the notion that Satan will lose is simply Jehovist propaganda - the like of any self-congratulatory sovereign. In the process of trying to win people over to his side through assurances of victory, he has driven his people toward apathy. Christians grow fat and lazy, believing they cannot help but succeed. Meanwhile, the Muslims train and plan and prepare for the end. Perhaps God will look more favorably upon them. After all, God's pragmatic. He does like a winner - look at the way he traded in the Jews for the Romans.

Meanwhile, the unsaved masses find their way down Gehenna's pit, finding a type of redemption in the honesty of sin, and making ready for the war upon the Celestial Throne.

Actually Satan is a servant of God, he is doing his job. Just like the man in charge of switching on the electric chair to kill someone is not a killer, he is just doing his job. God has no enemies nor He has any contenders, He is Supreme and Absolute.

satan has so much pride in himself that he still thinks he can defeat God despite everything.

I know that even the demons know what is coming because when Jesus was casting out the demons, (which I can't remember off the top of my head the scripture) they say to Jesus, "have you come to torment us before the time." Basically they know what is inevitable, but still think they have a shot.

Satan has this huge ego. He wanted to be God and since he can't he wants to take as many people away from God as possible. He knows his time is short and is working really hard to deceive us all.

May God Bless you.

Where is he going to go? I'm sure that it would be hard for him to blend in with the local tourist Seriously, life is filled with many difficult questions like this. That is why I chose to keep growing in my faith. Especially since doing so makes my life more grounded and serene.
I suggest you get into a good bible based church and get together with people in your age group and there will be a safe place to ponder these types of questions. Peace be with you!
