Most vets say 10-12 weeks. Also, he should be up to date on all vaccinations and be free of internal parasites. You will have to call your vet and find out what all he wants done prior to the surgery.
I hope that you aren't going to crop them yourself, it is considered animal cruelty when it isn't preformed by a vet. Take him to a vet and have them cropped, they are less likely to get infected and they will look much better. I have no problem with cropping as long as it is done by a veterinarian, not some guy with scissors. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound nasty. There just has been a problem in my area lately of people cropping their dogs ears themselves because most of the vets are refusing to do crops (which is why I feel that they shouldn't ban cropping).

Be aware that not many vets do cropping any more. It is also no longer condoned by the AVMA/AAHA. It is not taught in vet schools.
If you crop they need to be done by the time the puppy is 12 weeks old. It is usually done between 6 weeks & 12 weeks.
Be prepared for aftercare and taping. You will need to learn proper taping. Also it can take from a cpuple of weeks to over a year before they stand and sometimes they don't stand at all.

Ear cropping is usually done around 9 to 11 weeks of age. I won't get into the whole animal cruelty issue, but here's a good article on the pros vs. cons of ear cropping.
"It IS a cosmetic surgery, but it is performed under sterile and clean environments by a veterinarian. Of course, as with any surgery, there are risks.... any time you put your dog under there are risks of problems. Just be sure you inform your vet NOT to use Acepromazine, which is a common drug used to put dogs to sleep before surgery. It has been known to cause death in Boxers."

Boxers no longer have their ears cropped - including those who are shown. Most owners have recognized that this is a painful and unnecessary procedure, similar to "declawing" a cat. I'm not aware of any reputable vet who would agree to performing either procedure.

Around 3 months.
Too early won't be able to gauge the correct SIZE & too late-after a year-won't get the best result.
Don't bother to listen to the cry-babies,OK? Your dog, your choice. It's NO BIG DEAL!
Get a QUALIFIED vet-there's an ART to doing a good crop.

Unless he is a show dog, why bother? A reputable breeder who sold a dog for showing purposes would have already informed you about cropping and recommended veterinarians or not sold the pup until the procedure was completed. There is absolutely no purpose for cropping a dog's ears, it is just discomfort for the dog and the possiblity of infection and complications.

He shouldn't. Ear cropping and tail docking is a form of cosmetic surgery, which dogs do not want or need. He will not make you look any more macho as nobody cares about boxers' ears. Just leave your dogs ears, please, it si so painful, he won't thank you for it, and you should be happy with your boxer without cosmetic surgery. Please also neuter, dogs wont get fat by neutering. They will get fat if fed too much and exercised too little.

are you wanting to show him? if you are they should be done by a vet around 8-12 weeks. make sure you're ready for all of the aftercare involved. you'll have to check with your breed club for vets that still do this, many won't. if you're not showing him, leave his ears alone. if you're doing it just because you want his ears up then you should have gotten a dog that has naturally erect ears.

Cropping of ears is inhumane, and the USA and Canada are two of the only 1st world countries that allow it to happen. It is not required by breed standard, therefore, not required at all. There should be a ban.

i would have it done before he gets too old b/c it may hurt more and if he is little then he wont remember it
i don't recommend it because that is just a way to make your dog "look good" but remember it will be painful to the dog
dont do it yourself, and most vets don't do it
