Being a open-minded martial artist I'm interested in any other style which adds to or complements my existing knowledge.
and have a few books/videos on ninjitsu which are.
Ninjitsu history and Traditions....Dr Masaaki Hatsumi
Ninja mind control....Ashhida Kim
Ninja death touch.....Ashhida Kim
Spirit of the shadow warrior...Stephen K Hayes
And vol's 1-7 on video...Robert Busey

Upon reading the above books I was under the impression that any real ninjas out there would rather you did'nt know they existed and would make full use of reverse psychology.

If thats the case are they the most dangerious martial artists alive as I've read they'd rather poison/ kill and advesary who was sleeping as to avoid reprisals and what everyone else thinks as being cowardly the ninjas view as cunning.

I'm not bashing ninjitsu or ninjas but would be interested in your points of view regarding ninjitsu old values as opposed to modern ones.

Your thoughts please

The discipline as it was taught hundreds of years ago is pretty much gone except the self defense and weapons techniques disicplines because it's not needed for the societies of today.

but yes I believe you could classify the grandmaster level teachers as ninjas, but to put them in the same catagory as the individuals that trained in Ninjitsu all those years ago would be completely wrong.

not to your question, just to the others that chose to answer. Choosing to find a another philosophy to deal with with a changing world, I chose Aikido. Bushido. The Path of the warrior has taught me that I have more avenues to travel to pursue my enemy, and to eliminate them, even in the public' eye. Ninjitsu would not allow for this. (and this is where I get the thumbs down and critics, FOOLS WHO KNOW NOTHING) Through Master Morihei Ueshiba's teachings we learn of the "laws" that must govern the true heart of a true spirit. And through it's doctrine's we must accept that it's 17 basic principles can only mean that a true warrior must only be doing "right" when he overcomes his adversary in battle. Such is the Samurai. Yes, the Ninja live, and so does his enemy, and sometimes WE both survive. To live is to survive, to survive, is to insure the survival of the teachings of your CLAN. Never falter, never fade, and if you do, only into the night. That is the assasains's creed!
And there's a big ******* difference between Samurai and Ninja, for the putz who didn't know. But since I don't have all night, I have a link. Try Google. Or take martial arts. For the real poop go below. For all of you ex SEALS, I suggest a hotbath and some razors, I'm giving them the link to to your field marshal. Look me uo boys. Ninja were farm boys, Samurai were college trained skilled swordsmen you putz. Assasains vs's soldiers. UK vs American revolutionary. And we still won. Take a trip to Japan for Christ's sake (Read Sake, sake. s-ock-a)

Hello, I have often wrestled with these concepts myself. The short answer to you question is Yes, there are real ninjas out there. I am Shaolin, and I recently ended a serious romantic relationship with a man that went from Shaolin, to the Bujinkan under Dr. Hatsumi.
The change in my now ex-boyfriend was more then his fighting style. He seemed to have lost his conscience as well as a moral compass. Traditionally, a ninja is not a warrior, but an assassin. In my personal opinion, and in the opinion of my master, this is definitely a form of cowardace.

i dont think real real ninjas are out there but if u think about it, modern assasins and spies would count as ninja a bit, but exchanging the swords and explosive powders for guns and hitech stuff
there are probably many masters of ninjitsu but i dont think they actually do jobs that the early ninjas did
ninjitsu is a martial art that i really want to learn, but sadly there is no dojo around my place

atually ninja is an outdated word ninjas were warriors trained in ninjitsu to do what samurai couldnt do murder theft espianage. ninjitsu is said to be one of the most deadly martial arts in the world because they implore the most light force to pinpoint area's to kill. for example the legendary dim mak. this is a pinpoint close fist blow to the area directly in the center of the ribbs below the chest plate it will cause up to 2 inches of chesty compression breaking ribbed stoppping lungs and making ur hearts stop in one short second. but back on topic ninja's are no longer around they were only around and commonly used in fuedal japan. technicly u could call anyone trained in ninjitsu a ninja. AND ITS NOT A DEAD ART U DUMB ****> ITS A KILLER ART

There are very few true ninja left in the world . As far as I know Ashida Kim is a fake . Hatsumi and Hayes are whats left of ninjutsu . ( don't know anything about Busey ) The art is tought mostly for the sake of posterity and preserving what still remains of ninjutsu .

When it comes to ninjutsu, fact and fiction have been blended for a long time.
I don't think it's any coincidence that Hatsumi has a theatre degree. I just don't buy the idea that there is any historical continuity between neo-ninjutsu and the real thing.

Yes that drunk guy down the local boozer, the one who was in the SAS and jogged home after his vasectomy, he says he's a Ninja killing machine. Touch of the urban myth me thinketh. Martial arts and egos, hand in glove.
