I have just merged this movie but I am having problems burning it, because it seems that the dvd drive keeps turning inside when the first frame starts to run and then pauses and on the DVD Player, there is picture but no sound. I tried to convert it to mpeg from AVI but it says interface not supported, what does this mean and how do I fix this problem so it will work on my dvd player?

and funny enough, I've just looked at the file in my documents and it just shows the first frame as a picture and no VLC cone icon with it. How do you fix that?

You didn't mention which programme you are using to attempt the burning of your .avi file, or which program you are using in an attempt to convert your .avi file into .mpeg.

It may be that you need to download codecs (COmpressors/DECompressors) in order to be able to play your .avi file. Normally, VLC will play just about anything you can throw at it, but some people prefer to use specific audio and video codecs when they convert a film's format.

Take a look at the following site to see which codecs you fancy giving a try. (I use K-lite Mega codec pack, but there are a multitude of others available.)

The "interface not supported" report may be that the programme either doesn't read the format that you're trying to read, or it doesn't write the format you're trying to write. (This happens with some programs because, even though the suffix of a file is .avi, it may well be compressed using DivX or XviD codecs.)

Come back and let us know what programmes you're using for conversion and burning. We might be able to give you a better hand with completing your task.
