His name is Dustin. He sits beside me in gov. and in front of me in chem. I am not quite as popular as he is but i am not at the bottom. I have liked him for a little over 3 years. Most of the time he is nice to me but in front of some of his preppy friends he can be a jerk. I am way to afraid to ask him straight up so plz any other suggestions.

I'm sorry to say this but if he isn't nice to you in front of his friends, he probably doesn't like you. That or he cares more for his friends than he does for you. Unless he's always particularly nice to you or flirty towards you then he probably doesn't share your feelings. I'd try and talk to him a little more when he's alone.

forget about him! if your really looking for a guy, he should be one that isn't afraid to be nice to you in front of his friends. So leave the coward because you're too good for him!

I'd observe him a little more. If he is afraid to be himself in front of his friends, I'd look elsewhere. He'd need to prove to me he is his own person.

eh whenever a guy is with his friends he has to act like a jerk, but anyway it depends on how he looks at you and crap, if he stares at you, if he tries to be close to you ect.
