the same thing.

Paul says: Justification not by our good works, but by our faith in Jesus alone (Gal 2:15-3: & Rom 3:21-4:25)
James says: Justification by our good works, not by our faith in God alone (James 2:14-26)

These two don't agree whether good works with faith or faith alone will open believers' way to God. Why?

According to Paul, as long as I have faith in Jesus, I am "justified". James, while agreeing to faith in God, says that should be accompanied by good works. Which one is right?

they both agree with each other. paul said that we are justified by faith alone and james is adding that faith should be accompanied by works. our faith is made public by our good works (that is how the world knows we have faith). so they do agree, but agree with you that they are a bit confusing

actually if you read the verses you posted in James, all he is saying is that if you say you are saved, they way to prove it is to serve the Lord. There are many out there that say they are Christians that aren't and their works show it. Jesus said by your fruit you shall know them (matthew 7 or 9)

Works alone is dead and faith without doing anything about it doesn't equate to salvation.

He is telling the belivers he is talking to, to get off their butt and do someting for the Lord.

As evidence is that same chapter he said "I will show you my faith by my works"

James is just saying the evidence of your faith is your works. It completely lines up with Paul, but more than that, both line up with Jesus .

James is telling people to produce fruit- basically hes telling you to love. Paul does the same thing Corinthians 13:2 And If I had the gift of faith so that i could speak to a mountan and make it move without love I would be no good to anybody.

Shhhh! Don't wake the sleeping religious fanatics...they'll become very angry if you discover inconsistancies in their holy scripture. They are still insisting that there aren't any and any stupid explaination will justify...it doesn't even have to be logical as they will believe anything...its called FAITH.

The logical, reasonable and obvious have no place in religion. The Bible has LOTS of problems...it was written by power hungry men who thought the world was flat. You found only one...keep going, there are lots, lots more.

All the problems can be explained away using sensationalism, mystisism and vivid imaginations but there are rational problems. The answers you got above are like hearing a kid explain how Santa Claus comes down a chimney half his size...if you must believe, anything is possible. You simply can't argue with stupidity!

"Justification" is to be MADE just. Only the Almighty can do that. The only way I can know if anyone has been made just, (even myself) is to consider whether or not good (just) works are being done by that person. In an absolute sense (like the thief on the cross) good works don't have to follow. But in a practical sense, if you live you either live in the Messiah, and work righteousness, or you live outside Him, and you don't.

James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James is saying that doing with outfaith is not profitable. You must work at strengthening your faith, for it can't sustain it'self and grow if you are not working to strengthen it as through your relationship with the Lord.

Both work hand in hand together. Let's say you are wanting to drink your cup of coffee, your desire to drink that coffee is strong, but alone and without an effort to take you hand and lift it to your lips so you can drink it is not enough. As so is faith and good works. Faith must always be in motion and not standing still.

Or you are cold, and you have a warm jacket laying next to you, unless you phsyically put that jacket on you, it will not keep you warm until you do. Good intentions are meaningless unless you follow through with them and not just keep them in thought. Faith is usless if you dont work at strengthening it, putting power behind it instead of hinding behind it. Like a plant that you never water, eventually it will die.

We must always be moving in a forward motion with the Lord, never standing idle in our faith, but nurture it through reading of God's word, sharing of that word with others, attending Chruch, obeying God's word and living for the Lord.

Neither and both. Faith in Jesus meant believing the message he delivered (which was grossly misunderstood). Living a life of purity (good works) clears karmic debt. Seeking the path to God (the means which wes delivered by Jesus) while in the physical body will lead the soul back to the kingdom of Heaven.

The Bible is a book of contradictions. Just look at these two verses; they are really one versus the other:
26 Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. (1Kings 4:26) .
25 Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem. 2 Chronicles 9:25

Don't be confused. Do your homework!

The Greek word translated "justification" is "deekaioma". it's translated into about 4 different English words by the illustrious KJV plagiarists.

If you follow back the word's derivation, you'll find it means something closer akin to "just or righteous character".

Now get an Englishman's concordance (different from a regular concordance) and look up all the passages where that Greek word occurs.

If you do this little exercise, you'll be way more informed on the subject than your garden variety Christian.
