Is there an easier way to put filling in a sheet cake without torting and taking a chance on it not laying right on top of each other, etc... I am making a full sheet cake for a surprise party next week and I thought about just making a plain sheet cake (and decorating it of course) but everyone loves my fillings for my cakes. Just not sure how to do it for a full sheet cake. Any ideas?

You will have to slice it or add a 2nd layer over filling. Short of that you could poke holes and drizzle something over the top, let it soak in and then put frosting.

the only way that i know is torting it. i have been doing cakes for many years. just when you fill it make a border of icing around the edge of the middle of the cake. this will help keep the filling from coming out when you go to ice it. you may be able to use a piping bag and tip and put it in the bottom of the cake and slowly fill the cake. the only thing with that you would have to do it depending on the size of the sheet around 6 or more times. and the filling would not be all through the cake. also it may help to cut the cake in half before torting it. when you go to put the halves together just put some icing between the two filled sets of cakes. that will make filling it easier. just double board your cake to reinforce the cake from splitting.

Make 2 sheet cakes.

Put filling on top of one.

Put the other sheet cake on top.

Ice all of it with great icing.

Voilaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - everyone loves your cakes.

Now, am I invited to the party?

GOD bless us one and all, always.
