This is hard to answer. I'm assuming that you have a cat since you posted this in the cat section, but what was your cat bitten by? I'll anser as if your cat was bitten by another cat...

Treatment of cat bite wounds varies. If you know that your cat has bite wounds from a fight, please make an appointment to have your cat seen at the hospital. Antibiotics given within 24 hours will usually stop spread of the infection and development of an abscess.

First of all if any animal (horse, cat, dog, and human) has a high pain tolorance, than hydrogen pyroxside is the best to instantly clear germs from the open wound. It fizzes but dosnt hurt so much. There is a product that you can keep around, for putting on the woung after, and that is furacin pyroxcide ointment. Faast healing!.But if you want a cost free way ,keep these two things on hand. Pyroxcide, and furazone cream. Each are cheaper that buying the single name.NEXT.
Clean the wound with someone else, holding onto the head of the petand supporting their legs. Place a cotten ball soaked with the H.P. and dribble it on the bite, than do this only a few times. Be sure you vet knows the situation if a stray or wild animal did the bite.As long as your pet has all his shots, keeping the wound clean for 10 days with antibiotic cream, and a head cone ,"so you havent wasted your time"than on (cat dog.) Horse is different. ask later. If the bite has ripped a hole and torn some skin into muscles it will need stitches..

Is that a questions? If your cat has been bitten by another animal, especially another cat, it is VERY likely that it will form an abscess and need antibiotics and draining. Get your kitty to the vet and get the antibiotics right away to prevent an abscess from forming. You will still need to clean the wound with hydrogen peroxide daily.

Also, keep this in mind, the most common way for diseases like Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) to spread is through bite wounds, so have your kitty tested at the intervals your vet recommends.

If you do not know what bit the pet, you better get it to the vet right away. If it's a superficial wound, Clean with soap and water and put antibiotic ointment on it. Repeat everyday until it scabs over.

I use a cotton ball and wipe the bite off with peroxide. Then I sprinkle a medicated powder on the bite and wrap it up with an elastic bandage so he dont chew at it. If it itches you can put any anti itch cream on it before you sprinkle the medicated powder on. The powder will dry up the bite. Be sure not to get the elastic bandage to tight or you will harm his leg. They tend to get tighter after they are wraped. I get the kind that sticks to itself.. OR you just wash it with soap and water, rinse it with peroxide, and put a bug bite salve on it. Good luck

Same way you would clean a wound on yourself. Pour some peroxide on the bite, and dab some antibiotic cream on it..
