It depends on what your basic religious/atheist views are

If you're a hindu/buddhist/jain etc you will be reincarnated into something or someone which reflects on the good and bad deeds that you have done in your life. So for instance if you were a evil murderer, you might live your next life as a dung beetle

If youre a christian/muslim etc you will either live eternally in heaven (if youve been good) or hell (if youve been bad)

If your an atheist then after death, your buried body will decompose into nitrates, by nitrifying bacteria in soil and be reused as a source of nitrogen for plants to grow. If your cremated then your ashes will either be put into an urn, or might be scattered somewhere where you wanted

Hope my answer helped

According to the laws of nature (karma) the spirit soul takes up a new body within the womb of a female after death. If your karma is good, you'll take a better body, if it is bad so will be your next birth. If you do not have any karma then you'll go to the spiritual realm where there is no more births nor deaths.

We know the answer from the Bible. Jesus explains what happens when a person dies in several places of the Gospel books. The experience of Lazarus being raised from the grave 3 days after dying is one and another is from Jesus' experience of being dead in the tomb and then coming back to life. You also have several other events in both the old and new testements of people being raised from the dead. In none of these experiences is there any mention of any activity by the dead during the time they were dead. In a number of places in the Bible Jesus refers to death as like sleep.

Many religions teach the person lives on after death in some intelligent interactive spirit form but the Bible does not teach that.

That false idea started in the Garden of Eden with the devil and the serpent and he has inserted it in almost all major religions since. Main line Christians even teach that you immediately go to heaven or hell, but that teaching is not correct.

It is illogical because it is not compatable with a number of other clear events other than those above, for example there are the first and second resurrections at and 1000 years after Jesus' second advent. Also hell fire occurs on the surface of the earth so obviously is not occuring now. These events are outlined in the book of Revelation. You can also read about the explanations and texts at www.amazingfacts.org.

The Bible clearly teaches that a person ceases to exist in any form at the moment of death and remains in that nothing state until being resurrected when God re-creates him/her. In this nothing state of death there is no knowledge of the passage of time and no memory and no thoughts and no interaction with the living. The power for God to create with just a word is so important to understand as well. That is why believing in a literal 24 h/7 day week creation from God's spoken word is so critical to understand as well. The devil has tried to rob humans of that understanding as well by devising the stupid impossible preposperous idea of a big bang and random chance origin of life and survival of the fittest origin of each species of all plants and animals over hundreds of billions of years. If you believe that one I have a bridge in brooklyn I want to sell you.

The correct understanding of what happens to humans when they die is so important it is absolutely essential that you know truth in this regard so that you can know how to live your life now and not be decieved about what will happen in the future. Don't cheat yourself out of this knowledge. It is far more important than keeping up with professional or college or high school sports, for example. Explore the above web site. All of the support and documentation is in the Bible.

If you read the Bible properly and believe it, you'll die and become non-existent until the resurrection. If you're worthy of this resurrection, then you will be awaken with a new body on Earth. From there you will have 1000 years (judgement day) to prove your worth to God, before being tested by Satan after the 1000 years. If you pass the test, then you will live in paradise for eternity. If you follow the ways of Satan, then you will be destroyed forever, along with Satan and his angels. This is one interpretation of many interpretations of the Bible.

Another theory is the reincarnation theory. You die, go to some heavenly place to rest for a while before coming back to experience another life. You may come back alone, or join with friends and family who have died already to experience life together. Those that committed atrocities to others may come back to a miserable life as a lesson. The same goes with those that commit suicide for selfish reasons. With each life, you become more and more like God, until you will not have to come back ever again. Some punishments may be specific, for example, you blind someone in this life. The next life, you may be blinded as punishment. As for those that have done unselfish deeds and sacrifices, they may have some very good choices as to what life they may choose next time, and be rewarded while living in some kind of way during their life.

No one has returned from the dead, proving some kind of afterlife as of yet. Only time will tell.

You decompose. If you believe the Bible, your soul dies with your body and the Spirit of Life, which we share with all living things, neither being greater than the other, fades. What you were in life, based on the true sense of your heart and not just what you profess to be, is either recorded, or not, in the Book of Life.

Since there is nothing left, nothing goes to Heaven. At least not until after the resurrection just like it was with Christ. Of course if you are better than Christ, than perhaps you get a free ride.

If you are Born Again of the Holy Spirit, than upon your resurrection, you receive a Spiritual body, just like Christ, into which all the data recorded in the Book of Life is downloaded and you ascend.

If you are not Born Again, but are of the “Other Sheep not of this fold”, than you take part in the Second Resurrection of Revelations, whereby you receive a perfect human body, like Adam or Christ, into which all the data in the Book of Life is downloaded. This is similar to what Christ experienced when he was baptized and gained the knowledge of his pre-existence.

If you are not entered into the Book of Life, you still get resurrected, if only briefly, to receive your declaration of judgement, just like the fallen angels. There after, you cease to exist, even in the minds of those living from your time.

After death you will know nothing. It will be like a long sleep. The Almighty will evaluate what you have chosen, and based on His judgment you will either be resurrected in the first resurrection (to life) or the second resurrection, to final destruction. I'm not exactly sure why it will be so, but that is what Scripture teaches, and I am confident it is true.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

We are reincarnated into another body and get to try again, gaining wisdom and knowledge each time we here until we finally reach perfection. At that point, those who have reached the perfect state will be considered as a god.
