You have a lawyer? If not, get one. Judge will listen to your lawyer before they listen to you... remember, they have heard it all before!

Generally a judge will base things on what they see you have been capable of earning. If you are unable to pay the support due to a change in income you can always appeal it but you would best benefit from hiring a lawyer to do that.

You should of had your pay check stubbs and a letter form the employer showing that there is a change in your income.

When your dealing with a Judge concerning child support...it;'s very crucial to you that your income be accurate because once the Judge awards a decision you have to adhere to it.

File for a motion to reduce the child support order.
You don't need a lawyer to do the paperwork, just contact your case worker and have her send you the paperwork (or go to family court) and file for the motion... Its a simple procedure-

File the paperwork and then wait for the motion hearing;

be prepared to bring with you any documents that proves what your income is.. W2 forms, paystubs, etc... Good Luck!

Petition the court for a reduction in payments. You don't need a lawyer to do this. You will need proof of income.

They always go by what you made working the year prior to when you went to court so you are pretty much screwed until next year then you can go back and try to get it lowered.

You should already have a lawyer. Ask the lawyer. If not, get one. Most court decisions can be appealed.

Personally, I think guys who make babies should pay for raising them. Not much of a man if you don't.
