My son stole from me once. I took him to the police station (this was pre arranged) and they interigated him and put him in the cells for about an hour while we had a cup of coffee. It was the hardest thing that I ever had to do, but he never stole again.

Some children steal and hide things because they lack certain things. Is this your own child?? And have you raised this child for her whole life??

I would also let her know that if you steal you cannot be trusted. He bag gets checked before she leaves for school and as soon as she gets back in the afternoon. When you find something that is not hers she is to return it to the person that she stole it from and apologize to them.

How long has this been going on??

I have to agree with the others. It's probably for attention. In stead of yelling (if you do) the next time it happens, sit her down and ask her why she is doing this. Tell her how it makes you feel and ask if she would like if people did it to her. If you give kids a chance to talk, they'll usually come right out with the truth.

is she on meds. Concerta is a good med for ADD or ADHD. Is she in therapy? I like the idea of making her talk to the cops. Also if its something from school make her give it back and talk to the teacher, if it from you, make her do extra chores, if it s a sibling, make her give it back and make her do one of the siblings chores

I know it sounds funny, but take her stuff, hid it and then lie. See how she likes it
