It is a dishonest paternalistic vision of Jesus that is passed off as the Jesus story by religion.

The church long ago decided that it should be male-dominated and that women should have a lesser role even though one of his main disciples was Mary Magdalene. They knowingly exorcised many books from the original Bible which showed that women were on an even keel with men. Why? So they could control things, basing most of their reasoning upon Jesus' statement to Peter that he was the rock upon which he would build his church. Then, they went so far as to say Peter was the first pope - he wasn't. But, it suited their purposes and made the female a lesser being. You should read the Gnostic Gospels - they're real eye-openers and show the role of women to be the same as that of men.
For Action's Fury and his sexist views: Do you have any idea how many times the Bible has been re-written? No one really knows what the original said - only portions of it - since there aren't that many surviving fragments. During the Middle Ages and earlier, every time it was copied, changes were made and those changes reflect male dominance. Words which were attributed to Christ weren't written down until long after his death, there is no verbatim recording of what he ACTUALLY said. Chances are good, he would have said that women were equal to men and not subservient.

Women have always been important in the church. To be sure, in some denominations, some men have tried to put less emphasis on the role of women in the church, but that doesn't change the facts at all. Women have always been and always will be the backbone of the Christian church.
Christian husbands have a great responsibility--much greater before God than their wives', actually..a Christian husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the church, even to the point of giving his life for her...
What Muslim man could ever live up to a responsibility like that??

As a Catholic, and personal translator for a Priest from Colombia I quickly realized what an important role women played in making the Parish work like clockwork. I observed how the Priests surrounded with faith-filled obedient women. I think that the importance of women is poorly reported and even less acknowledged.
I would strongly suggest that we start to give credit to women for all that they do for the church. That's the only way it is aver going to change

I think that women have a tremendously important role in churches. Maybe not as priests but they run the church, Sunday school every other program also. Maybe other churches do not allow women to be part of the church but Orthodox churches celebrate women and their contributions. We, as women, meet every month to plan the activities of the church. The priest would never have time to do everything a church requires.

WOMEN IN CHRISTIANITY:
Let's follow the Bible's New Testament word by word to see if Christian women are indeed equal to Christian men.
The following Verses were taken from the NIV Bible.
Women are men's glory. The vise versa is not true:
1 Peter 3:5 "For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands,"
1 Corinthians 11:7 "A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man."
1 Corinthians 11:8 "For man did not come from woman, but woman from man;"
1 Corinthians 11:9 "neither was man created for woman, but woman for man."
1 Corinthians 11:3 "Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God."
GOD Almighty is Christ's head, and Christ is man's head, and a man is his woman's head. So a man in the Bible is considered his woman's Christ in a way, since he is her head just as much as Christ is his head!
All of the above verses should clearly debunk the feminists' views regarding Christianity being a religion that "without a doubt" equalizes between men and women.
Women must submit themselves fully to their men:
1 Corinthians 14:34 "women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission"
So in other words, women must shut up in Churches! I wonder what the Christian feminists who make fun of Islam regarding Muslim women covering up and dressing modestly have to say about this verse!
1 Timothy 2:11 "A woman should learn in quietness and full submission."
1 Timothy 2:12 "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."
I wonder what the Christian female school teachers and college professors have to say about these verses?
Women must dress modestly and cover their heads. Otherwise, their heads must be shaven!
1 Timothy 2:9 "I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,"
1 Corinthians 11:5-10 "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels."

not at all... i know a lot of women who speak and teach... but they also submit to men, not saying that the men are the ones with the important roles though.... any ways it depends on how involved you are as a christian... in fact i see more women starting and doing bible groups and hold the men more accountable.

Before you point finger at other women of other religion, go take off the tent you are wearing. Christian women walk with their men, not behind them.
