My teache says our ancestors are monkeys. Is this true?

I'm sorry your Teacher is teaching you such rubbish. Maybe she needs to take a few more courses in Ancestral History before teaching it.

Your teacher is mistaken; our ancestors and those of the other primates were the same species, but we are not "descended from monkeys", we are simply both descended from a common ancestor, now long extinct. If you have trouble understanding this, you need a new school, a new set of text books, some common sense, a class in basic logic, or perhaps you need to be reassigned to a more basic class.

Denying evolution is rather like denying gravity. Get a handle on reality!

This is the genealogy category. Genealogy is the study of family trees. Most of us genealogists go back 16 or 20 generations, then the mists of time obscure things.

If you were to search for "Monkey" or "Evolution" in the Science or Religion categories, you'd find a huge amount of discussion.

If you go back far enough, our ancestors were tree shrews.

Not exactly monkeys, but some type of early primate.
