I don't get it. My daughter was in first grade when Freaky Friday came out with Lindsey Lohan. A couple weeks later when she was getting a trim she asked the stylist to make her look like that. I've got no problem with it. It's just hair. She's now almost 10 and has rarely had her natural hair color since. Hell... She's had her own computer and internet connection in her room, cell phone, PS2, iPod, etc. for several years as well. None of these factors turned her into a monster. She's an amazingly sweet, loving, straight A, popular little girl.
If parents would spend a little more time with their kids rather than worrying about how they may turn out if they were given a little freedom and self expression there would be a lot fewer problems in adolescence. Too often I think parents don't understand the extent to which their distance and structure creates the very things they fear.

My parents aren't that strict, but when I asked them if I could dye my hair red, they said no. I had to convice them too. What I did, first I asked if I could semi-permantely dye my hair. You should do that. Explain to them how it works, and let them know it only lasts for two weeks. If and when you do semi-permanately dye your hair, you can see the color on you and how it works with you, your personality, skin tone, eye color, ect. It'll also give your parents a chance to see you, and what you want.
If you decide you like the way it looks, try and make a deal with your parents. Maybe you'll do extra chores, reach an important goal, do well in school, or something of that nature.
Good luck!

Be mature about it and give them some good reasons. If you just say they should let you dye your hair because everyone else is doing it, or you get upset because they say no, they are going to think you are immature and will not let you do it. Print out some pictures of the colors you want and ask them if you could try a temporary dye (L'Oreal Color Pulse is a good one). Let them know that you respect their decision but you just want to be able to try a different look.

Well personally, i don't like black nail polish if it is used in the wrong way. But what i would do to ask my parents is to tell them i am looking for a change. Say that you want to experience new things before settling with one color. But try not to get to wild wiith the hair, or they will for sure say no. Take it slow...

If your parents are that strict I don't think you can convince them. I can dye my hair but my parents let me I never had to convince them. And why would you want to dye it black when its already almost black? And I think your color ideas are kinda out there. I don't know if I would let my future kids do that either.

Don't ruin your hair. once you do theres no going back. I'd ask to get layers or a new style. Go ahead, see how many guys think bleach is hot. And black and red only makes you look goth or emo.
