I caught an neighbour being nasty and shouting at my 7 year old cat one day. I really did,nt think to much about it after the event. However very soon my cat got very ill and was vomiting every day first thing in the morning. (It was,nt a fur ball more like white foam.) he got so bad one day that I had to rush him to the vet. They had to keep him in and did lots of tests on him. There was damage to his kidneys. The vet said it could be that he was so dehidrated or something more serious, we gave him meds for a month and checked his blood again. Not to good. But something amazing happened. I moved house and almost immedently my cat stopped being sick. I cant go into every detail about this person however suffice to say he did,nt like cats. Problem is i have no proof. God bless any new neighbours with pet cats.

Thanks for your answers. Angus is now getting older (in cat years ) He actually has decided that he wont go out anymore. He seems to like just being in his own place. I think he may go out in the summer, just sit in the garden and enjoy the sun. Bless him.

It may have been innocent. The neighbour may have had a pesticide in his garden and may even have been trying to chase your cat away from that poison. If the cat is better then you have come out ahead of the game. Don't worry about it.

You are allowed to think what you like about neighbours. My cat disappeared 4 months ago and I reckon some nasty person did something to him. People can be so cruel. However your cat is well now and that is the main thing. Be grateful for that at least. You still have a cat

Your cat may have been poisoned, let's face it a lot of people hate other cat's using their garden as a toilet. If I were you I'd try to let it go as you have now moved house and your cat is getting better. Some people do horrible things to cats, that's why I decided that my kitten will be a house cat and she is very happy that way.

That is one of the many dangers of letting a PET run free outside. They get into peoples gardens and such, the owners of the garden gets mad and puts out poison. Your neighbor might not have done a thing as well...there are lots of things cats can get into that will cause injury or death. A responsible pet owner does not let a pet wander around outside.

sounds like they were giving it something horrible. people do some awful things. I have a neighbor that hates everything living, he is a really bitter old man, hates cats, dogs, kids and i always worry about him doing something horrible to my pets. I trained them to use an igloo litter tray in my own back yard right from the start of letting them out just to try and avoid upsetting him but he still shouts abuse when they walk through his garden!

Yes. it definitely looks suspicous - cats get kidney trouble, but usualy when they are very elderly. It seems as though your neighbour was putting something down which your cat ate and upset him. You are so lucky he didn't kill him. Pity you can't report him to the rspca. Glad you moved house - don't worry about revenge - karma will get revenge on your old neighbour.....someone will poison him one day!

I think your neighbor may have been poisoning your cat too.

I am glad you got your cat away from the neighbor. Some people are just really mean. :(

It doesn't look like you have any claim against your neighbor, sad to say.

Best of luck.

Maybe you should go look around his yard for whatever it is he is using in case he is doing it to other cats than just yours....actually he probably just hand feeds so there is no evidence. Sneaky bastard! I am sorry- that is disgusting!
