I found a tick on my cat that I know could not have been there too long. It must have attached it self in the passed week or so. What ever happened to the concept of tick season??? I know it this whole season in the Northeast has been unseasonably mild but this seems ridiculous! Any thoughts???

I'm from Maine and I am a tech in a vet hospital. Fleas & ticks are particularly bad this year and because of teh weather conditions they haven't "left" for the season. You still need to treat your cat with a good flea/tick control such as Frontline.

I live in NY and we are still pulling ticks off of dogs and cats. I have a family friend who is an exterminator and the way he explains it that ticks hibernate in the low lying brush etc. in the winter (they never go away) and with this odd weather we are having they are out and about. Here in NY it has been recommended that using a flea and tick prevention product year round now.

the climate could desire to be mild and then turn chilly and icy on the drop of a hat. Maine often has a number of snow each and every wintry climate, even with the undeniable fact that it is the ice storms that are lots worse. you are able to desire to get fortunate and be up there throughout the time of a dry spell, yet the two way plan on it being chilly.
