No gift is appropriate from a student to a teacher. You did fine with a card, and your sincere friendship Any thing more would be possibly against her values and rules as a teacher, and put her in a compromising position. Your passion for her teaching is a gift in itself; she was doing what all teachers should do...and that is to teach and make the subject interesting and stimulating. Because she was doing her job, your card expressed that in a kind way.
If you tip someone for doing a great job in a restaurant, you don't keep going back with more tips. Once is enough and the message is relayed to that person. So it is with your card. Thank her each time you think of her, in your mind, but no further expression is needed.

Teachers can use all kinds of things- supplies for the classroom are good ideas.
Check the Internet. Maybe you can get her something like posters for her classroom- bullfighting posters, maybe? Or, a calendar that's in Spanish!
My dad worked for Goodyear for many years. While I was in high school, he got calendars for me (published by Goodyear) from the international offices. My teacher was so happy! The calendar was in Spanish (months, days, etc.)
Be careful about what you get. Teachers have to be careful about accepting gifts from students. (These gifts may be perceived as "bribes" for better grades) So, if you get something "small" like posters, it will probably be o.k. That's why I suggested posters or calendars. Your teacher can put up the posters or the calendar in her classroom for all the students to look at and admire!
As a former teacher, I find it very nice that you like your teacher so much you want to get her a gift! Keep on studying. Make her proud of you!

If you don't know what to get her, then buy her something like a candle or something relaxing that most people like. (Teachers work REALLY hard) I like the Spanish card thing that Cecilee said, but DON'T use a translater. Those things have gotten me into so much trouble! Write what you know, and if you can't say something, say it when you give her the present.

How thoughtful of you!
I guess anything that comes from your heart is going to be appreciated for your Spanish teacher. Flowers are a good choice, maybe a beautiful book with images and pics from the beautiful places she could visit in the US. I'm sure you're going to hear of great ideas, and your nice feelings are going to choose the best and adequate to express what your heart wants to say: gratitude.
Check this one, it's beautiful!

Maybe a Daytimer, a Planner, would be right for a teacher, or maybe something that you could personalize

I think it would mean a lot to her if you wrote her a letter in Spanish about how much you have learned and so on. And if you write it and don't know all of the words in Spanish go to http://www.google.com/translate_t and translate it.
Good luck.
