EMTs and volunteer firemen are allowed to use flashing/rotating blue lights in their personal vehicles when responding to an incident. They must be certified as an EMT or firefighter and must be approved by their department and the state before using the lights. The lights are purchased and installed at their own expense. Use of the lights does NOT give them the authority to break ANY traffic laws; they must obey all speed limits and traffic control devices when using the lights, which means that they can't speed and run red lights.

In Washington State, it is Illegal for volunteer firefighter/EMTs to use Red or blue strobe lights. The only color we can put on our personal vehicles is green, which means please pull over. Reds mean pull over or the police officer behind me gives you a ticket.
You can get all colors for emergency lights at galls.com, Code3 retailers, and Whelen retailers.
Also, in Washington State, a rarely enforced law, however you must have proof that you are a firefighter/EMT in the vehicle that is equipped with the emergency lighting
Check your state's laws, usually, part of the motor vehicle laws.

Yeah, they are unlawful. you do not ought to teach them on to violate. also, imagine about it. in case you get pulled over and the cop asks you why you've them, does no longer it sound noticeably stupid to inform him you receive them "because they look intimidating"? you're truly admitting you want people to imagine you're a cop. remember of truth, bypass seem up the Decepticon Crown Vic. man made it seem as if a transformer cop vehicle only for relaxing. only had white strobes. He were given arrested for impersonation. Nowhere on the automobile did it say police or have any form of badge or fashionable human being form.
