Taking my 3 year old Son to Doctor.
For a check-up, & Blood Test.(private reason - sorry )
He gets very scared by doctors - & doesn't like anything being done to him.
Anyways / ideas on making it less fearful for him ?
What about the Blood Test ? He's gonna hate that so much.lol.

Maybe get him his own dr kit that he can take with him...tell him doctors are ok, and they are here to help...I know that elmo has a video/dvd about going to the dr..maybe try that. My daughter had her blood drawn when she was very young and the nurse that did it was excellent..she didn't even know what was going on...just try to keep him still and keep him busy, maybe tell the little guy he can go get a prize afterwards or something..coloring book, ice cream cone or something. Just talk the dr up really well.

You could always try a good dose of Tylenol before you go - it may relax him just enough (and help with the pain of needles)
I have the opposite problem - every time my daughter (3 also) pinches her finger or stubs her toe, she asks me to take her to the doctor so he can make it all better.

go to the libary and get a couple of books and a dr kit and act it out and offer a reward we always go out for ice cream we even did that when i had to take the kids with me to the doctor for my flu shot hey even i liked it.....mom of 3 5,3, and 4 months

when my son's about to get a shot, I give him a new toy right before. he's so excited about the toy he doesn't always notice.

bring a toy or something that will entertain him or keep his mind off it/distract him
