Study and practice. Learning how to use your software (whether it's Adobe Photoshop or something else) takes time, just to get acquainted on all the tools - and Photoshop isn't very intuitive and never will be. There are lots of books, classes and magazines to get you started.

But that's just one side of the equation - the other side is knowing what your artistic vision for your work is apart from the camera, your computer, your software aand all of the rest of your tools.

That's the real thing that separates, for instance, Ansel Adams from some guy taking black and whites of Yosemite. Real artistry takes devotion, experience, failures and successes and practice to develop.

Best to you.

Go to the Serif website shown below and order PhotoPlus 11.0. It has a $79.99 online price, but call them at 800.557.3743 and see if they have any specials going on right now.

PhotoPlus 11.0 is just as powerful as the big names, but less than 1/4th the price. They have an awesome technical support system, and a tutorial that kicks butt.

Purchase it from Amazon.com. Add it in your shopping cart. Keep visiting the site. When the price drops beyond your expectations, buy it. They normally drop prices when a newer (which is mostly not very different so the older version would work fine) version is released.

Try this download link. It is really pretty good and free. I have 4 different photoshops, and this program combined them into one very useful one. It will also find pictures on your computer that you may have thought you lost.
