Ask at the doctors. When i was 6 i had tonselites really badly and i had to have mine removed. It hurts! So hopefully you kid wont have to have that (im not very comforting am i?!) but yes i remember having lots of medicine and also throat lozengers. They tasted nice so i didnt mind having them unlike some horrid medicines around. Theyre very soothing too but make sure you kid cant reach them coz there is a limit on how many to have in a day. All the best i hope ive helped :)

If you get tonsillitis, here are some tips that can help you feel better:

Drink plenty of fluids.
Eat smooth foods, including flavored gelatin, soups, ice-pops, and applesauce.
Avoid hard, crunchy, or spicy foods.
Use a cool-mist vaporizer or humidifier in the room where you spend the most time.
Rest.

Hi when i had tonselilitis i use to always have ice cream. Mum used to make it fell special as i used to get them little tubs like at the old cinemas all to myself yummy, thats if i could eat it. Also lots of cold drinks, Water or cordial also i used to use a straw as i get really ill with it also. If it hurts loads with cold try hot as this might soothe, it this doesnt work stick to the Ice cream and try having little sips of what you want to drink.

Gargling with warm salt water is great the kids probably want ice cream or jello - both soothe the throat

Always cold things, ice cream helps. Hot things will just hurt like hell and cause more damage.
But remember these are not a cure so always give them their medicine.

Fluids are imporant. O.J. has lots of vitamins and minerals that can prevent and shorten a cold. Herbal teas with lemon and honey are good too. Avoid soda and stuff thats high in sugar.

Chicken noodle soup is good too.

ice cream definitely soothes and numbs it
and disgusting though it sounds, dry toast helps to scrape the lumps off the tonsils. i know its gross but my doctor used to tell me to do it

and gargling with salt water, also gross, but helps fight infection
