Get off of the computer and go run. Then run some more. and more, and more.

Keep running. Keep hydrated. Keep running. Take a break: read about USMC history. Go run some more.

Remember that you can do it. Remember that sometimes you may doubt yourself but don't give in. Keep your eye on the prize.

Good Luck.

I was in the Marines for 8 years. I was also a drill instructor. Heres some tips: 1) start running at least a mile and a half or more, do pushups, and situps. That will help keep you from being picked on for being out of shape. 2) get your mind wrapped around the fact you are about to lose your freedom. You can not speak, go to the bathroom, get dressed or do anything else without permission. 3) Remember that boot camp is a mind game too so don't let the insults get to you. Just keep reminding yourself that this is the DIs job and they really don't hate you.

There is not much else you can do to prepare yourself it will be a shock and you will be in a daze for awhile. The first thing that happens when you get there is screaming and sleep deprivation. They will keep you up for a few days to break you down. One more helpful piece of advice is if you have long hair go to sleep with a comb and pins in your bed and get up a few minutes before wake up time and do your hair neatly. I've seen girls who don't do this and they end up chopping their hair off because they keep getting in trouble for looking sloppy. The DIs expect you to figure this out on your own...

Good Luck...Semper Fi

Be Prepared.....work out some, get in some sort of physical shape. Be prepared for long hard and enduring situations...Always maintain an "I can do that" Attitude. Never ever give up......always keep looking forward ..its only a few short weeks, that will go by faster than you can imagine..

At night, while in your Rack, you will say over and over, "Today wasn't so bad" Tomorrow should be EZ.

Like Melissa said, don't let the DIs rattle you. There only pupose is to make you the best Marine possible, They want you to survive. They are truly your best friends.....

Best of luck and thank you for serving....Remember...Once a Marine.....Always a Marine..Semper Fi !!

a reliable PT application: Pushups situps, crunches, dips, pullups and popular runs. you prefer to paintings your self as much as 3-5 miles an afternoon of working (the different day will paintings). On substitute days (or primary in direction of the top) get a minimum of three instruments of all of the above in. confirm you're doing sturdy maximum appropriate iterations of each. that's greater significant than what number, yet you prefer to push your self as stressful as conceivable. In 3 months that section would be a breeze. i don't be responsive to if the marines call it a "sensible e book" or not, yet they are sure to have a instruction manual which has the factors for the quite a few projects you will would desire to be responsive to as a marine. you could initiate examining this now. something you do in this point will help get you into management positions in undemanding and strengthen your danger for an early promoting. do not use it plenty with the intention to teach off, yet to help the different recruits. it will get you your brownie factors without spotlighting you as a showoff. If and on condition which you be responsive to somebody which could instruct you firearms properly, bypass to the type and learn. ideally a marine vet. in case you don't be responsive to one, do not attempt it on your guy or woman. you would be greater advantageous off understanding not something approximately firearms than having be untaught undesirable conduct. sturdy success and sturdy coaching, maggot. (never take something very own) you have a great strategies-set already and that i'm particular you will do properly.

lots of things. besides getting into a semblance of shape, you can study drill and ceremony procedures, memorize marine corps rank, the 11 general orders for a sentry, the marine rifle creed, and the Marine hymn, at least, the first verse. You can also memorize the USMC core values, study marine corps history, and memorize the characteristics of a M16A4 rifle. Oh, and the code of conduct, you'll want to memorize that too. And learn how to swim, if you don't.

My son went to Paris Island some years ago for boot camp, and he always said one phrase to himself that got him through it. "It's not gonna kill me"! Any time things got tough;(and they will) he just said that over and over and he made it fine.
