there is a story about a man who took peoples infirmities as he passed by, a reference to Jesus?

I have received this story several times but lost it along the way. The part I most remember is he took a ragged coat from a one armed man and gave his coat arm and all to him and he kept the coat with no arm.
Anybody ever hear of it or know where I can find it?

This sounds vaguely like a reference to the "Sin Eater," or maybe another take on that legend. Assuming he *keeps* the infirmities (you did say "takes" instead of "cures," but maybe I have it wrong).
