Yes, there is great evil. His name used to be Lucifer, before he was cast down. Then his name changed to Satan (considered to be King of the devils) The Bible makes it clear that he tempted Eve and he showed up all through the Bible's history messing with people's lives. I also believe he has fallen angels or "devils" all around to help him do his job, which is to bring as much of the human race to hell to be tormented with him forever, after the world ends. Why do you think there are so many false religions and atheists of such. The devil has done his job and few have enough guts to stand against him.

Satan is real. I believe that the Bible is true and it tells quite a big deal about Devil. He is the fallen angel. Casted out from Heaven.

Yes there is a devil. It belongs to those that believe in it.
I am no Christian. I do not believe in Satan.
I do however believe in the embodiment of evil. Evil effects and infects everything. Evil is the easy path.Evil deeds fill our world daily and people are becoming apathetic to it. They have become inured to it's effects.

I'll not preach about evil but as an emotion it exists.

There really is a devil, he was an angel at one time, but wanted God's glory and power. He's refereed to as Lucifer, a lion, a serpent, etc in the Bible many times. He even went as far as to tempt Jesus.

No, I do not believe in a personification of pure evil, a being that is responsible for the ills of the world.

I believe that evil can only exist in humans. Nothing else consciously chooses to do harm for no reason than to do it.

I do not beleive there is a real Devil. I think people made him up to explain the evil that some humans do.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

people always think the devil and the Satan is one and the same, however; Satan is a spirit and were born in the garden in Eden.
Satan is the spirit of all visible things. the devil = the human because he was cast out of heaven and became flesh/human.
