Mary D I am a life vegetarian and no one not even my beloved would call me "delicate". Woodlands is excellent though it does also serve fish [ugh]. There is a wonderful Chinese in the university area called the Fortune House which does a lot of veg things. Vegetable Hot and Sour soup is wonderful....
It's 150 miles from here but I go there every time I am in Cardiff

theres a place called jikoni on corporation road, one (though it also sells seafood) on woodvile road called greenhouse. theres also Celtic cauldron just inside one of the arcades over the road from the castle. its not just veggie but its damn good and quite cheap. Theres also crumbs salad restaurant in Morgan arcade and swallows coffee house in royal arcadetheres a few more tha ive seen but im not sure where they are

Crumbs in the Morgan Arcade is completely vegetarian and does lovely salads, chillis etc, but is only open at lunchtimes.

actually there is very little specialised restaurants like that. try the buddha lounge on woodville road.
