Call another vet, tell them what you have said here, and ask for their opinion.

Having had only a few mouthfuls of water in the past 72 hours is disturbing, as he could be getting dehydrated. Has he developed diarrhea? That would be another sign of dehydration. I am disturbed that he has only had a wee twice, in 72 hours, I assume.

Did the vet give your cat any medications or a shot? Has your kitty had regular vaccinations?

I hope your cat is ok. I am my cat's human and, if my cat were in this situation, I would call another vet for a second opinion. If your cat's symptoms stay the same or get worse, I would take him to a vet and not wait until Monday.

Good luck!

go to a different vet and get a 2nd opinion. Ask for blood tests and a liver and kidney function test. In the meantime, try some pilchards in toomato sauce. Water the sauce a bit. This way he is getting fluid and salts into him aswell as food. When cats get very sick, they get anorexia and stop eating. You have to coax them into eating again and the way I have found best is a strong smelling strong flavoured food like tinned pilchards in tomato sauce. It's saved many a cat here.
Whatever you do, NEVER squirt fluid into its mouth or throat unless you want to add pneumonia to the list of problems.

Gbyisrich: you said that your dad is a vet. What vet would leave a kitten outside to get into fights? What vet would allow a kitten to be so flead ridden that they got ill, and what sort of vet would not be able to even diagnose flea anemia without taking it to a clinic? Your dad is either incompetent as a vet or you are telling lies.

Get another vet! The one you have used is creaming you for all your money!
What sort of vet would put a cat on a drip, then ask you to take him home because he wouldn't settle? That's what sedation is for.
Are you sure you got a vet and not just a zealous vetinary nurse?
Poor cat. The time to get really worried is if he starts to go cold, that means he's shutting down and will die without urgent attention.
I'd see another vet today. Or take him to a Pets at Home store where they have a vet on hand.

I don't know if this could be the same type of problem, I had a cat a few years ago and after getting him neutered,he was fed on the IAMS dry food, this caused a calcium build up (over time) at his urethra which caused him distress when he had to go to the loo, he wasn't quiet about it though and it wasn't a good result as the vet didn't know what caused this till it was too late. There was quite a bit of stomach swelling and it was pretty obvious he was in pain.
Mention this to the vet, it may be some kind of similar problem due to him being out and about, you never know what he's eaten. And it could be the early stages of the same problem
Hope he's ok.
best wishes
Denise

it could be just like a virus that will pass in a few days ,cats can get sick like us for a few days hopefully but the vet has done some tests maybe take to another vets as they maybe have a better idea.
Cats when they are ill sometimes disapear on their own for a few days at a time and as u worry about them they appear few days later .
did the vet give him anything like medicine to calm its temperature etc ,
i would just let it have some peace and quiet and keep water beside it incase it needs a drink and hasnt far to go maybe check on another vet open in your area tomorrow.

Has he been checked for Feline Leukemia, Feline Aids, FIP?, Is it possible that he ate something (plastic, piece of toy etc) has he been xrayed for intestinal blockage? does he have an abcess somewhere that you may have missed? did they take a look in his mouth to see if he has an abcessed tooth? is it possible for you to call the vet and ask if they carry a food called Hills A/D, it is a liquidy canned food that is designed to entice cats or dogs to eat when they do not want to eat anything else, that may be worth a try, there is also another product that you may want to ask your vet if they carry it is called NutriCal, it is in a tube and also used to give caloric intake and stimulate appetite. I hope some of this helps and I wish your kitty good health. God Bless.

A while back I had a cat that was perfectly fine one day and the next day all she did was sleep. I didn't notice until that afternoon when she was in the same spot on my bed. I picked her up and she woke up but was completely limp. I tried to stand her on the bed and she just dropped back down like she was dead. Then I noticed a small bite wound on her leg. I took her to the vet and was given antibiotics for her wound that had become infected. It was a very small wound. If your cat goes outside, check to see if maybe it has gotten into a fight. Good luck.

Does he pee normally? If he is blocked and can't pee, that could be the problem. The vet should be able to feel his bladder, even you could feel it if it is full, like an orange in his lower tummy, if you sort of press his tummy from the sides. I hope your cat gets well, I have no idea what this may be. Ask the vet if he has checked for urine blockage, I suppose he has.

my cat has the same problem. she didnt want to move at all and slept all day. my dad [[he`s a vet]] had took her to the clinic and they said that my kitten might have leukemia and that they might have to put it to sleep. But they problem was that they kitten had to many fleas and many fights.. with other cats that were on the streets. Try asking the vet when you go back to check if it has fleas or even scratches from other kittens. has your kitten been outside ?` cuz if it has then that might be the problem. Hope ur kitten gets better <3. ='[.

My cat did that, he began peeing on outfits, in the bathe stall each and each of the time, he's fixed and in trouble-free words 2, did she seem as if she grow to be in discomfort? I took my cat in because it grow to be after he were given fixed and concept he tore the stitches (wager they don't fairly have stitches notwithstanding) and positioned out he had a bladder an infection. only watch her and ensure she isn't having a puzzling time going and seem for blood.
