i can do that myself. surely personal favourites, experience and tips are what you want when you put a question on here?

well there's a can of worms blown open where i didn't expect it!
this is a genuine question aimed at no particular person, so please don't take offence. i've never even asked for a recipe but have answered quite a few in the spirit of trying to help. if you c+p a recipe, do you know it works?
as for harrassment. really? there must be worse things than a slightly pointed question.

I agree totally. When I ask for a recipe, I am hoping the person has tried it and has liked it. When someone asks me for a recipe, I give them a couple varieties I have, and tell them which one I like the most. Maybe people are too lazy anymore. I want the grannies with their apple pie recipe that's tried and true! lol Thanks for being understanding to others....

I have to admit sometimes I do the cut and paste thing here and I wonder why some of the people who ask certain questions don't have the idea to do a search on their own. When a specific question is asked which really is concerning personal favorites, experience and tips, I answer it in that manner. Sometimes, however, people ask questions that need technical answers. Good point made and I'd like to add, why not do your own search online first if your question is not of the variety being discussed here.

I've cut and pasted recipies that I have honestly cooked and eaten, so I can ensure that a recipe tastes good and works. I will never post a recipe that I didn't like and can't recommend.

It's true, when there's reams of pasted recipes, they are rarely read.
I think it's perfectly valid to bring up this point, as if you answer questions in this section you should know the answer without searching for it.

Where do you think I get my recipes from? The web. The ones I post are ones I have tried and actually liked.

I have tried the recipes that I use on Yahoo! Answers no matter where they came from. If I have not tried it I will say that I have not tried it.

If "personal favourites, experience and tips" are what you want, that's what you have to ask for.
If you simply ask for a recipe, that's what people will send you. If you don't be specific, you can't expect people to know exactly what you're looking for.

actually, i agree with you. i'd much rather have someone's tried and true recipe for something rather than a random one someone cut and pasted.
I can go search for recipes, but when i ask a q on here, i'd really much prefer someone's own to one they searched for and just pasted....
