Yeast infections are NOT cause by bacteria. Yeast infections accure when there is an ABSENCE of the "good" bacteria. They also have nothing to do with your period. There are many reasons this could happen. Most women experince at least one yeast infection in there lifetime

Yeast infections are caused by YEAST, not any sort of bacteria!!!
The vagina has a delicate balance of yeast and bacteria they both serve a purpose when the yeast level goes down the bacteria goes up causeing VAGINITIS. When the bacteria level goes down causeing the yeast level to go up it is a YEAST infection. They ar eboth treated diffirently, since anti-biotic are useless agaisnt a yeast infection. Yeast is a FUNGUS.

Though I have never heard of yeast "disease", I have heard of yeast infections. They have nothing to do with your period. They usually come from an imbalance of PH in your body/vagina, and an overwhelming increase of so called 'bad bacteria'. If it has a fishy order than you NEED to see a Doctor. Otherwise watch it over the next few days and try to eat yogurt-the live active cultures help balance the good and bad bacteria in your body.

Anyone can get a yeast infection, even boys. Sometimes people get yeast infections due to medications, like anti-biotics. Other people will get a yeast infection from eating too many refined foods, or bathing instead of showering. When my sons were infants, they would get ear infections and be on anti-biotics, which gave them yeast infections. Don't be embarrassed to get help. If you leave it too long it can be nasty to get rid of. Good luck.
