and was recently told by a nurse practioner that i don't need the vaccine again-coz i have 6 doses of it already-i am in med school-so do i need to get this done anyhow?

As u r still young & had a few courses already u r probably good for the next 8-10 years. As a med student u need to have a antibodies blood test (this will confirm if u r covered) u will also need to have HAV (hep a vax if not had already) There is no vaccine as yet for Hep C, I am a Blood Borne Virus educator & we r still waiting for the vax, due to my work with HIV/AIDS & Hep C have had hep A & B vax which has me covered for the next 8-10 hope this helps
