i dont know how to repair it but i do know how to stop it. dont comb your hair when its wet, thats a major cause of spilt ends.

The fastest way to grow your hair out is to have it trimmed, honestly. Split ends will continue to split until your hair gets shorter.

You need to have the ends trimmed, and then use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to prevent your hair from splitting in the future.

You are going to have to get your ends trimmed. I don't suggest getting all the split ends cut off at once, but you can do it gradually.

In the mean time get hot oil treatments and deep conditionings to prevent your hair from becoming more damaged.

talk to someone who knows hair. I had split ends too but I got my hair cut. I also use a strenghening shampoo and conditioner found at beauty salons. I've also heard that boar's head brushes or something like that work really well too.

if you dont want to CUT it just get a little trim...also getting a trim will make ur hair grow faster and the stylists can get rid of the knots with the right conditioners and shampoos

also to help with your diet so that your hair does not get split ends so badly
I have very long hair --to my waist--and rarely have split ends
eat a good balanced diet and do have calcium too no harsh shampoos and be careful with certain conditioners
brushes and certain ways you brush our your hair makes a difference..

tell her to have the chop up ends decrease off ~ basically 14 inch. Then: wash her hair with toddler shampoo, purely, for ever better. and stop messing with it ~ do not color it, do not use a dryer on it, do not tease it, do not wash it with beer ~ basically go away it on my own !!!

I had that problem and I now use L'Oreal's shampoo for deteriorated hair. And also their hair mask. It's their orange line if I'm not mistaking. It worked wonders for me.
