The Hindu religion says nothing about completely covering the body or hair, before Islam came over and influenced northern India, the women wore saris and much of their body was revealed, but the concept of modesty was brought along with Islamic influence, I'm not saying that they were crazy sluts before that, but the culture has always respected women, as you can see in female representations of god, and they've always been in touch with their bodies and sexuality but they did have respectable standards and morals as they still do

Sari is the traditional Hindu clothing as THE Goddess Parvati herself wore it.
Even the Goddess's beautiful belly is exposed and so are her long black hair.
Goddess Parvati wore such sari to attract many demons to her. As demons came near Parvati,the Goddess killed them. This was done by Goddess many times for those demons who would trouble the living beings,but would run away on the approach of God.
Hindu women wear sari today as a tribute or respect towards Goddess Parvati.

Not the Hindu women I know, still this forum is all about generalising isn't it. Maybe they don't have the same hang-ups. maybe its just traditional dress, maybe they just like it.

its just traditional dress, its not just hindus, but sikhs aswell i think
like western women like wearing miniskirts and bikinis and arabs like wrapping rags on there heads for no apparent reason
