This case is actually a hot topic in Japan right now.The rich part,,, that`s just details.Murder due to hate, envy, rage, etc is somewhat in the furthest sense understandable but not forgivable. My actual question is the motivation behind the decapitation part,why/what could drive a person to decapitate another person? Why not just stop at murder........

To those stating that she must have had a reason to do this:
Are you nuts yourselves?
Someone committs a violent crime, is clearly guilty, yet because she's married she MUST have been in an abusive marriage?
Somehow, it's the guy's fault?
Explain this then:
* Why did she then cut up the body to make disposal easier?
* Why did she have her apartment remodelled to try & hide the crime?
* When his friends/colleagues tried to contact him via his cellphone, she pretended to be him & hide her crime.
* When her friends came around she (thinking she could still smell the blood) excused any strange smells on her "dog's period" (I kid you not).

Now, the full details of the case are yet to be revealed... perhaps her husband WAS abusive - I don't know... but guess what? Neither do you.
Sometimes crap happens, and people go off the deep-end. Don't be so bloody quick to attribute this to abusive husbands.

Mutilation to that extent speaks of rage. It takes alot of effort to dismember a body. Another aspect is guilt. Mutilation of the corpse is a way to dehumanize the victim. It makes the murderer feel less like he or she killed another person.

Not sticking up for her, but something bad must have happened to make her snap and commit that horrible crime. Wouldn't you think? Sometimes you read things like this, and there's underlying facts on why it happened. People are crazy. Lock her up.
Oh, and one more thing, you lost me on the rich Japanese thing.

Some people just simply go off the deep end. Who knows her particular reasons...maybe she was schizophrenic.

I find that very affluent people tend to be the most crazy. Money makes you kinda insane.

That is sad. She'll probably plead insanity and get off lightly. On the other hand perhaps she was abused.
