A question to atheists: What do you guys do if someone is sick, or feeling down instead of prayer and stuff?

We send them get well cards, send them flowers, we tell them nice jokes, meet the doctor and ensure that he is competent, we flirt with the nurses to keep them motivated. Best of we never scare them talking about heaven and hell either!!!

So I do the same thing I would do to cheer up any friend. And I spend my time listening to the doctors instead of asking a sky faerie to fix it.

We feel that when we're sick, our doctor can do much more for us than our mullah can. Praying to Allah, or Zeus, or Woden doesn't bring on a cure. I'll stick with the saw-bones when I'm sick. Allahu Akbar

well, if it's someone I really care about, I comfort them by telling them things will get better and that everything will be ok (it's always better to be optimistic than harsh with reality when talking to someone who is sick, mind over matter holds some truth) and I remind them that I will always love and remember them, hope and love aren't religious concepts, it's human nature

cheer them up in non religious ways,drop off food,offer to help around the house,offer to drive kids around if applicable,you know the usual.

We'll bring them flowers, buy them chocolate, something to take their mind off of it.

instead of telling someone we will pray for them, we say things like

"get well soon!"
"I hope you feel better"
