This might not be a job for you to do on your own, but if you want to change the fluids in your Jeep, there is a transmission filter inside of your transmission . you have to take the tranny pan off of the truck to do this, you also have to take the pan off inorder to drain the fluids out of it. Then you have to buy a new tranmission pan gasket and replace the old one. so my addvise to you if you have never done something like this before is to, A take it to a shop and have them do it or B buy the Chiltons manual at the parts store that explains how to do all of these things. It will be time consuming but is cheaper in the long run. Also your owners manual will tell you what types of fluids are required and how much......

Change the engine oil/filter
change the air filter
change the front and rear differential gear oil
change the transfer case fluid (usually Automatic Tranny Fluid now)
Change transmission fluid/filter

The engine oil/filter is pretty simple, drain old oil, change filter, put in new oil.

Air filter is in a square or rectangular box on the driver's side of the engine.

Front and rear axle gear oil is simple remove old gear oil and put in new oil.

Transmission fluid, drain transmission by removing the transmission oil pan, and change the filter there while the pan is removed, install new pan gasket and filter and reinstall the pan tightening the bolts down evently or you will warp the pan causing a leak.

Transfer case, simply remove lower plug, drain oil, reinstall lower plug, remove upper plug and put in new fluid, (most newer transfer cases are using transmission fluid.

If you have problems locating any of the items above, you can purchase a Chilton, or Hayes manual at your auto parts store for about $20. They tell you and show you step by step how to do a complete service on your vehicle, as well as a complete engine teardown and rebuild.

Your Owners manual will tell you all you need to know. If you do not have one then buy one from the dealer or buy a Chilton service manual. That will also give you all you need to know about maintenance on your vehicle.
