Absolutely! The parents of that child are still kids themselves. That baby needs.....no, REQUIRES adult attention. If your brother is in jail, his rights are temporarily on hold. He should not have a say in that baby's absence.

You should see the baby but not because he is in jail and not coming out soon. You should see the baby because you are all a part of that baby's heritage. Your brother is being extremely selfish to keep the baby from you because of a problem he has with your mother. Babies need family and security and it sounds as if you would provide that. Good Luck

Yep, that baby needs family and the first four years of his life basically determine the personality he will carry through life.
Your brother will hopefully do some growing up in jail and realize family is a constant in life and cannot be rejected without real loss to the one doing the rejecting. If he is in jail, that alone kind of tells me he is not accustomed to using good sense -- hopefully he will learn.

Yes, I think she should. That baby needs to grow up learning that he/she can trust and rely on their family when times get rough. That's one of the most important foundations in life. Things really hit the fan when you realize you have no family that you can trust or count on when you're in trouble. It sounds like your brother could be experiencing a bit of that. Why not try and make him understand this point of view. That baby will be screwed up if forced to live isolated from their family who i'm sure care and know much much much more about its best interests then jailed up bro.

That is up to your brother's girlfriend. Since your brother is in jail she has sole custody of your nephew. It sounds like she is being mature and is considering the best for her son. Just because your brother is mad at your parents it does not mean that his son needs to suffer as well. Yes, I think that your brother's girlfriend has made a good decision to let you all back in to your nephew's life. I hope everything works out.

Hmm thats a tuff one...but i think she should still let you guys see the baby since she is in it by herself now seeing that he's in jail. Maybe she can talk to your brother and have him see why having the baby around is a good thing.

Since your brother's girlfriend is the mother of the baby she has every right to determine who gets to see the child and who doesn't. If she wants your parents to see the child then she should allow them to see the child. If it makes your brother mad too bad.

What your brother doesn't know won't hurt him. He's in jail and if he keeps acting selfish and evil he's going to stay in there forever. So take this opportunity and visit with the child. Your parents can file for visitation it's called Grandparental rights. Go for it!
